Farm Tours

Farm Tours are $10 per person and usually last about 2 hours.  Children 5 & under are free, but each child under 5 MUST be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons.  Each admission includes a cup of grain to hand feed the alpacas with, and anyone 6 & older will have the opportunity to make a needle felted picture to take home as a souvenir.  Children 5 & under can color an alpaca picture or glue fiber to felted scraps and make a bookmark.

During your farm tour you will get to learn all about alpacas while I show you our barn set up and take you through the pastures.  You will get the chance to hand feed the yearling boys, ask questions, and take as many pictures as your heart desires.  We will walk to the pond area where the girls hang out and check for any new cria (baby alpaca).  The tour will end in our farm store, where you'll be able to see all the different products we make with our alpaca fiber.  I will demonstrate how we card our alpaca fiber on the hand crank drum carder to prepare it for spinning or felting, and then we'll make needle felted pictures!

We only schedule one tour a day so you can experience our farm and alpacas without feeling rushed.  Some kids and adults are really into the alpacas and/or the needle felting and are welcome to stay longer than the estimated 2 hours to work on their project.  We are in a free range pasture with the alpacas, therefore these tours are geared more towards children over 5 years old and adults.  We love children and welcome youngsters under age 5, but please be aware that large animals can be terrifying to some young ones.
