Farm Tours

Basic Farm Tour ($10/person) - Learn all about alpacas while we venture out into the pastures in a free range setting. You will be provided with a cup of grain to hand feed the yearling boys with. After we feed the "little boys", we'll go to the girls' side where the pond is. You can visit with the alpacas, play on the beach, look for frogs in the pond, and even have the option to go on a canoe ride! If you're up for a little exercise, we can take a walk around the pond. Once you've had your fill of the great outdoors, we will head back to the shop. In the shop, you'll get to see all the products we make with our alpaca's fiber and I'll even demonstrate how to use a drum carder to prepare the fiber for spinning and felting. If you have small children, I'll read them a fun story!

Felting Fun Farm Tour ($15/person - ages 8 & up) - All the things in the Basic Farm Tour, plus the opportunity to learn how to needle felt and make your own needle felted picture out of alpaca fiber! If you are crafty and know how to sew, you can make a little coin purse instead of a picture! If you already know how to felt, you are more than welcome to make a felted animal or whatever your heart fancies.

Adult Alpaca Adventure Tour (aka Margarita Tour, $25/person - ages 21 & up) - For this tour you get to do ALL the things included in the Basic and Felting tour, plus you will be provided with a cold bottled margarita from Los Charros in Macomb (bring a cup of ice if you want ice). While you are venturing around the pond and/or chillin' on the beach, be on the lookout for Easter eggs filled with coupons to the farm store (one might even have a free gift)!

Tours generally last about 2-5 hours, depending on the type of tour and how much fun you're having. We have hand wipes, hand sanitizer, and an outhouse available. We also have a picnic table if you want to pack sack lunches. A cold water hose is available to hose off muddy kids if you have lots of fun and get muddy in the pond. I'm working on getting a solar powered shower to rinse off in, but not sure when I will have it set up.
